The Kid is reading a Diary of a Wimpy Kid book to me right now, and he's mispronounced "Church" as "Crunch" about 5 times. "Rowley hasn't gone to Crunch very often."
I must be doing something right.
His confusion during the section about "Passing the Peace" is funny, too.

Carl Sagan on Reading and the Freedom of the Mind
“Frederick Douglas taught that literacy is the path from slavery to freedom. There are many kinds of slavery and many kinds of freedom, but reading is still the path.”―Carl Sagan

Atheist Proverbs: Praying for a Bike
"When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bike. Then I realized that The Lord doesn't work that way, so I stole one and asked him to forgive me. "

Kristine Kathryn Rusch: Updates on Royalty Statements Post
This blog post was posted on Kristine Kathryn Rusch's blog a few days ago, and soon afterward, hackers took down her site.
And then she posted it on another site, and they took that one down, too.
Kris gave me permission to repost on my blog to spread this news. Other blogs are doubtlessly reposting, too.
If you're an aspiring writer, you need to read this. If you're a publishing writer, you MUST read this, and then read your own royalty statements, very carefully.

So a guy walks into a UU church...
A visitor to a Unitarian Universalist church sat through the sermon with growing incredulity at the heretical ideas being spouted. After the sermon, a UU asked the visitor, "So how did you like it?"
"I can't believe half the things that minister said!" sputtered the visitor in outrage.
"Oh, good -- then you'll fit right in!"
